In the matter of one weeks’ time, multiple porn scandals involving supposed stand up, professional men working in high-profile government positions has begun to surface.

Of course, we can’t forget the John Edwards situation last year where a good family man was having an affair and cheating his way through each government hierarchy – and fathered a child with his hidden mistress.  Nor can we forget the Elliott Spitzer “Sexcapades” resulting in him conceding his position in New York City.  Or how about Mike Bennett, the senator from Florida that got prime time air on Fox News because Sean Hannity called him out on the reporter that caught him looking?

Clearly anyone in today’s Porn industry who isn’t encoding in H.264 is a bit behind and will be left in the dust.  With 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology, porn will jump off the screen in 3d at you.  Ok we made that last part up, but seriously anyone who is in the know is going to adapt their content to playback on this device, its a natural extension of the web, and less of a hassle than the iPhone was to get video content on.

Well there you go.. I also have to state while we where at the Apple event today in SF, we had a great time sitting and listing to Steve talk while Godaddy was loaded on our notebook registering iPad domains.

Some of you are wondering how are they allowed to do this?  How do they bypass Apple and have a payment system?  Well its really simple with the advanced in HTML 5 you Apple has made available some javascript and code to allow you to create what I call a simulated simple app.  What I mean by this is that a full app is compiled with xcode and uses objective c.

This sex store app is a HTML 5 app using the HTML 5 caching system built into the new spec.  So what happens is that when you click the + button in your browser it pulls a list of cached files that the webmaster defines and this is stored then on your iPhone, with version 3.x of the iPhone OS you gain a bit more access to what you can do with a web version of an appl.

Kodos to Premier App Shop LLC, for doing this and providing a way to sell porn, but if your looking at building a full blown iPhone app with open gl, or other higher level functions Apple just doesn’t allow that yet.

This is a great way to sell photo sets though.

Nexus One Tech Specs

Today Google announced the Nexus One phone where the web meets the phone.  Not to much new from what the websites have been posting and you can get one of the phones right now from T-Mobile by visiting http://google.com/phone

So from the looks at the specs it seems that you can encode your videos now for H.264 AVC which is great news with the Snapdragon CPU it in , it shouldn’t have a probably decoding video.  When we get our hands on one we will do some test encodes here and post our results.

Another nice tidbit is the ability to Video captured at 720×480 pixels at 20 frames per second or higher, depending on lighting conditions.  Seems like we might be getting people shooting their own amateur porn and sending them over the internet with this new phone

Google about to launch their own phone dubbed “Nexus One” and will have a press conference Jaunuary 5th, 2010 to explain all the details.

Some sites on the net are getting early previews of this new device, but what does that mean for the adult industry and mobile porn? Well here is a bit of the break down of the tech specs and details of the device that we found on engadget.com

The HTC-built and (soon to be) Google-sold device runs Android 2.1 atop a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 3.7-inch, 480 x 800 display, has 512MB of ROM, 512MB of RAM, and a 4GB microSD card (expandable to 32GB).

With a 480×800 display this is a bit bigger than the the iPhone’s 480×320 we assume that will help a bit out for the video encoding sizes but for us its yet another encoding profile we have to spit out to provide quality mobile porn video.

No details on the video playback but we guess the standard h2.64 will be working just fine on the 1GHz Snapdragon CPU.

More details to be provided once we get them.

The new $1.99 app will give you the cover of the magazine, the tablet of contents for the issue, its Playmate’s intro text and details, along with portions of text from the magazine’s monthly features, like the “Playboy Interview” and “Playboy Advisor.”

As you can see companies are jumping on applications for phones like never before.

A funny thing we saw the other day was called “A day on the internet” and it estimates that 43 gigabytes are transferred though mobiles phones on a daily basis, which is about 9.2 million DVD’s worth of data… just for fun we included the image we found, some neat statistics.

While browsing though the web site  Mikandi.com we where a bit excited since well this is a huge break though for the adult industry but before we get into the app lets talk about the site a bit.

They have a developer section which seems to be fairly well done, a small video about the developer section and some payout information.  What stuck us a bit odd is that they have PayPal as a payout options, while we all know that PayPal frowns any transitions involved adult revenue this could be a bit of a sticking point for some.

The other options is though Amazon payment system, which when we last read it also stipulates:

“Adult Oriented Products and Services – includes pornography (including child pornography), sexually explicit materials (in all media types such as Internet, phone, and printed materials), dating services, escort services, or prostitution services.”

So after installing the application on our phone we notice that only one app was available in our build and this was a free application called “Dildroid” which is a free multi-speed vibrator system for the Google Android phone.

So we are being a bit picky as we should. We have seen adult mobile grow from a small bud back in 2000 to something that could explode into a viable additional revenue stream for the adult industry. You should always be careful when you look at these services and figure out your best coarse of action.

While the our judgment is still out on Mikandi we wish them all the best of luck.

admob who was recently acquired by Google has some new tasty statistics that should alert anyone in the adult industry to jump on the bandwagon and get cracking with a mobile site of your own.

With out going into to much detail I think the screen shots below from admob’s database of stats pretty much says it all.

Below is a pie chart of the current race of mobile smart phone devices and as you can early see the iPhone is the market leader in the US.

With the iPhone taking a huge 55% chunk of the pie and Android another 20%, that makes just 2 handsets or should I say OS’s leading 75% of the market share on smartphones in the US.

The iPhone is miles ahead of everyone else, but Android is quickly rising as a strong second. While Android phones managed to increase their share from 17 percent in September, 2009 to 20 percent in October, 2009, the iPhone and iPod Touch gained even more, going from 48 percent to 55 percent share. Meanwhile, during that same month the Blackberry ’s mobile Web traffic share went down from 14 percent to 12 percent, and Palm’s webOS shrank from 10 percent to 5 percent (Ouch). -Tech Crunch

The next image shows World Wide smartphone percentages with the iPhone taking 50% of the market and Nokia/Symbian OS 25%. A interesting note here is that Adroid has only a 11% share world wide compared to the 20% share it owns in the US.

So that’s a lot of mobile traffic and potential customers for your adult site, and really if you have been waiting for mobile to explode now is the time and it will only continue to grow.

With the iPhone having one of the best mobile browsers we have used, and the ability play back and stream high quality video and other smartphones having similar capabilities no wonder the explosion in web traffic has emerged from these devices.
